The British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards are a suite of four technical standards that enable the production, packaging, storage, and distribution of safe food and consumer products.
BRC was the first standard in the world to be approved by the GFSI benchmarking committee, and remains one of the operational tools most frequently used for due diligence and supplier approval.
Food Safety & Quality Management
The standards are designed to help companies produce food products of consistent safety and quality, as well as select and qualify their suppliers and reduce the overall costs of supply chain management. To achieve these objectives, BRC outlines clear and detailed requirements based on HACCP principles and aligns with existing quality management systems (e.g., ISO and HACCP).
