Program Leader – EHS Consulting Services


Location: Madison, WI; Chicago, IL (Lisle); Austin, TX
Position type: Full-time, direct hire
Compensation will be salaried and commensurate with experience

Position Summary

Kestrel Management is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to lead the company’s consulting/auditing sales and service delivery. This key company role will provide program leadership and direct and/or perform customer EHS compliance audits, develop and implement environmental and safety management systems, provide onsite senior-level compliance support at client facilities, prepare technical proposals, and lead business development with existing and new clients, as well as other tasks as assigned. This position will refine and develop innovative, effective and efficient service offerings and lead their marketing and sales campaigns in a team setting. Certification (e.g., Safety Auditor or Safety Professional, Environmental Auditor or Professional, CHMM, or similar) is desired, as well as good IT skills and willingness to use new technology/tools.


  • Assist in the development of existing and new EHS compliance offerings, and bring them to market
  • Oversee or manage multiple clients and ensure quality standards on project deliverables are met
  • Provide onsite senior-level compliance support at client facilities
  • Oversee EHS compliance audits and assist with follow-up corrective action
  • Develop, manage, and implement environmental management systems and programs for clients
  • Develop and expand client relationships


  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Business Administration or related discipline
  • 15-20 years of EHS compliance and/or EHS auditing experience
  • Expertise in EHS management systems
  • Ability to market and sell EHS compliance services to key clients
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports
  • Leadership skills and ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multitask, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal
  • Process Safety Management experience is a plus
  • Experience in chemical/oil/gas, food manufacturing, and/or railroads is a plus
