October 10, 2013 - Kestrel Food Safety
On October 7, 2013, the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) reissued its Guidance Document Sixth Edition to include key requirements related to the storage and distribution sector. The document includes benchmarking criteria that must be in place in a storage and distribution scheme’s standard, including food safety management systems, good distribution practices, HACCP-based requirements, and auditor competency requirements.
Kestrel’s Bill Bremer serves as a member of the GFSI Storage and Distribution Working Group and was involved in the Group’s efforts to put in place the benchmarking elements for the storage and distribution sector.
